What We Do

"Why don't they just leave?"  We, as a society, often ask that question without realizing that we are making at least two assumptions. First, we are assuming that they didn't try. It takes survivors 6-8 times to leave for good. But do we ask why that is?  Did they try to leave and the shelter turned them away? Are their family, friends, and faith leadership encouraging them to stay/go back? Has their hope been weaponized or have they been threatened by their abuser if they leave?

Which leads to the second assumption, by asking that common question, it implies that the abuse/violence ends after separation. The most dangerous time for a domestic abuse victim is when they leave, with approximately 75-77% of domestic violence homicides occurring UP TO A YEAR OR TWO AFTER THE VICTIM LEFT.

To Rise Advocacy and Consulting (TRAC), LLC, is a dynamic company dedicated to transforming community responses to domestic violence through education, collaboration, and access to resources that promote safety, healing, and long-term resilience. To break generational cycles of abuse, healing has to happen in spite of systemic failures and injustice.

Using the “Empowered and In Control©” (EIC) framework, TRAC, LLC delivers engaging keynotes for awareness, transformative workshops for allied professionals, and practical coaching sessions and healing-centered services to empower individuals impacted by (or at risk for) domestic abuse to rise above violence, trauma, and injustice. TRAC, LLC also offers services that fill in the gaps within domestic violence intervention, such as expert witness services and court accompaniment. The Empowered and In Control Podcast© was created to help people who have been impacted by abuse to heal and regain power and control after an abusive relationship. Modeled after the EIC© framework, domestic abuse education, empowerment coaching, survivor/expert interviews, and empowerment excursions can be watched on YouTube weekly. Regardless of transportation, privacy concerns, or ability to pay, the podcast meets survivors where they are-on their phone.  We don’t just talk about change-we RISE to create it.
